Booking Your Holiday in France....here you can find advice on accommodation, booking travel, as well as the journey. We tell you the gites and campsites that we have enjoyed and give advice on the most convenient travel options, including how to save money!  And we provide all the contact names, addresses, websites, telephone numbers....that you need to book your holiday.

If you're not sure where to go then study the regional sections of the website where you will find information on the best attractions, towns, the weather, shopping, wine and much much more besides....

GiteAccommodation  There is a wide choice of accommodation  in France from exclusive city  hotels to budget campsites in the country.

Our personal favourite is a gite holiday (right) as we appreciate the peace, solitude and independence.   However, if you want entertainment you may prefer one of the many large campsites  where you will find huge tents and well equipped mobile homes already in situ.

Chambre d'HôteEn route to the more southerly regions we often stay in a Chambre d'Hôte (left) to enjoy the hospitality of French hosts. HotelFor a quick stopover try a budget hotel (see right).

Finally for a visit to one of the large cities you are more likely to stay in a city centre hotel, although some gite rental agencies also have city centre appartments on their books.  For more information, check out our accommodation section which contains contact names, addresses, websites, telephone numbers....

Getting There  ....all the options (with pros + cons) for travelling to France including going by air, sea or by train.  For advice on the actual journey such as route planning, keeping the kids entertained, French highway code etc., refer to our section on driving in France.

When booking your holiday, don't forget to take out holiday insurance as well - depending on the terms of the policy you buy, this will give you protection in case you cannot travel because of illness or for some other reason.  Also if travelling by car, you are advised to purchase European recovery insurance for your vehicle before you travel, as this can be invaluable if you have an accident or a serious break down.  Please check individual policies for details of cover provided.
