Dinan:
Location:
On the N176, south of St Malo.
General
Info: Office du Tourisme
website.
Description: Dinan is a beautiful town which could be easy to
overlook as you rush to or from St Malo. The old town of Dinan is
a maze of narrow cobblestone streets and old medieval timbered
buildings..
Our
recommendations: Three streets are especially
worth seeing: the steep Rue du Jerzual which links the port with the old
town, the Place des Cordeliers and Place des Merciers. There are some
nice little restaurants along the wharf and very pleasant walks
alongside the river Rance. And there are great views of the port and
the huge viaduct from the Jardin Anglais. Also worth a visit for its
splendid views is the Tour de l’Horloge.
For the children:
They will enjoy a visit to the castle which is located in the centre of
town, as well as a walk around the ramparts.. Alternatively take a boat
ride from the port across the river to
St Malo. |
