Charente Vendee Attractions  This area of France has a rich variety of attractions for the holidaymaker.  Of course the miles of sandy beaches draw the crowds year after year, but there are some delightful towns and villages as well, plus vineyards aplenty with the added benefit of the home of Cognac and the local speciality Pineau. Also you will find splendid theme parks such as le Puy du Fou or Futuroscope, as well as idyllic islands, fascinating geographical features....

Atlantic Toboggan  A Water Wonderland!

Location: Heading from St Gilles Croix-de-View towards St Jean-de-Monts you'll find Atlantic Toboggan on the right hand side, just past the turning for Merlin Plage.

General Info: Entry prices are 18 Euros for adults and 15 Euros for 3-15 years of age. For more information, visit their website or call on 02 51 58 05 37.

Description: A traditional water theme park with various different flumes as well as several swimming pools, rapids and the like.

Our recommendations: The queues are shortest in the morning and over the lunchtime period.  Take a picnic along so you can make a whole day out here (but save it till after 2PM!) to get best value for money.  Remember that your children shouldn't be swimming immediately after a meal though.

For the children: This is a paradise for children.  We would definitely recommend it for older kids that are strong swimmers and who can be left to their own devices.  Younger children will enjoy it as well as there are some features just for infants, but you will need to be with them all the time.
