Moulin
de la Tour
Location:
8km east of Sarlat off the D47 in Ste Nathalène.
General Info: Open every Friday, plus Mondays and Wednesdays in
peak season. Tel. 05 53 59 22 08
Description: One of the few working walnut presses in the Dordogne.
Very friendly guides also work the presses and give very
interesting demonstrations
throughout. This is a small family concern and
is very welcoming. You are able to buy walnut, hazelnut and almond
products at the end of the tour.
Our recommendations: Take a guided tour in English. You
could easily combine this with a visit to the Gardens at Manoir
d’Eyrignac.
For the children: You won’t be able to spend
a day there but their attention will be held well by the interesting
demonstrations given by enthusiastic people who really know what they are
talking about. |
