Canal du MidiBest Attractions in the Languedoc  Although the Languedoc Roussillon region is best known for its splendid Mediterranean coastline, travel a little inland and you will find a totally different character with plenty to add a bit of variety to the ubiquitous bucket and spade holiday.  Not only will you find beautiful scenery such as the rolling Corbières hills, the Parc National de Haut Languedoc, or the Pyrénéean mountains, but there is also incredible history to be found with the medieval fortress town of Carcassonne and the dramatically situated Cathar castles.

Not suitable for anyone of limited mobilityMonto Z’Arbres Tree Top Activity Park

Location: The Monto Z’Arbres Tree Top Activity Park is signposted off the main D115 at Prats-de-Mollo heading in the direction of Spain.

General Info:  Entry prices are: €22.5 for adults, €18.5 for under 18s, €16 for infants (depends on height) and €7 for toddlers.  The 400m aerial rope way is charged extra. For more information visit the website (French only) or telephone on 04 68 22 43 55.

Description: In a fantastic setting in the Catalan Pyrénées, this is very good tree top activity park with a nice mixture of Via Ferrata and more traditional rope/tree based activities.

Our recommendations: This attraction is ideal for the more active family.  If you want to do something completely different….why not arrange to spend the night in one of their tree cabins!  There are several packages offered combining an overnight stay with one or two days of activity.

For the children:  This park does a good job of catering for all ages with a wide variety of dedicated activities.  However we would normally only recommend this kind of activity for the over 8s.
