Lot-et-Garonne & Tarn Attractions  - spread over a wide area and perhaps overshadowed by its more famous neighbour (the Dordogne), however the region still has plenty to interest you during your holiday, with enchanting towns and villages, spectacular rivers, chateaux, caves and more besides.  Also, although a long way from the sea, there are no shortage of swimming lakes (Base de Loisirs) where you can cool down in those hot summer months.

African Safari

Location: About 18 kms west of Toulouse on the south side of the D82 between Fonsorbes and La Salvetat Saint Gilles. Well signposted.
General Information: Website.  Tel No: (0)5 61 86 45 03.  Opening times – 1st April to 30th September 9.30-20.00. Rest of year 10.00-18.00. Adults €12.50 and children aged 2-10 years €8.50.  Between April and September there are special Sea Lion and Bird displays.
Description: A touch of the African sub-continent in France with more than 500 animals! This is a safari style park split into two sections. The first part takes you (in the comfort of your car) on safari through the reserve with many animals to see including ostriches, zebras and rhinos and not forgetting the African lion. The second part is the zoo which is accessed on foot, where animals from other continents can be seen.
Our recommendations: This is something that will appeal to most children and makes a good day out. Come with a picnic to make a day of it. It has the added bonus of providing lots of shade.
