Base de Loisirs in Lot-et-GaronneLot-et-Garonne & Tarn Attractions  - spread over a wide area and perhaps overshadowed by its more famous neighbour (the Dordogne), however the region still has plenty to interest you during your holiday, with enchanting towns and villages, spectacular rivers, chateaux, caves and more besides.  Also, although a long way from the sea, there are no shortage of swimming lakes (Base de Loisirs) where you can cool down in those hot summer months.

Description: A converted old chateau offering a traditional French open air museum.  Situated on  a vast site there are many resited original buildings with some traditional crafts on display such as bread making and blacksmiths to mention but two.  Surprisingly for such an excellent place we found this pleasantly quiet when we visited.
Our recommendations: Make sure to take a picnic – there’s loads of space and picnic tables in the grounds.  Nearby you can visit the Grotte at Pech Merle.
For the children: They will adore the space and the opportunity to explore.

Excellent.
