Stop Press!  1st February 2008.

We regret to inform you that we will be reducing the rate of information updates and newsletters during the first half of 2008 whilst the site undergoes a major re-structure.  But don't worry...there's still hundreds of pages of information for you to browse and when we come back in the autumn, the site will be bigger and better than ever.

We still aim to update as many admission prices and entry times as possible.

January 2008: Gites in Aquitaine.
November 2007:

Summer 2007: All price and availability information updated across the whole site.

May 2007: Accessibility information is now being provided on France For Families to help you judge the suitability of attractions.  See the FAQ section for further information.  New section on Les Plus Beaux Villages de France (most beautiful villages of France).

March 2007: New Dordogne Attractions.  New section on Buying a Gite in France.  Lots of new Brittany content.
February 2007:
New section for gites in
the Pyrénées.

January 2007: A new section with advice on Home Swapping.  New advice on visiting Paris.

December 2006: A huge update on Normandy with many new highlights, especially WWII sites.  New personally recommended B and Bs.

Can't find what you're looking for?  It doesn't surprise us! We sometimes think something has gone missing and then find it buried in a lower level page. Even though we have tried to keep a really clear structure, with more information than you would find in a large guidebook it's no wonder that you don't find everything straight off! So we've provided a useful search facility:

Google
Web

www.france4families.com

If you leave the "Web" button selected then you'll be searching for stuff on Google's massive web database and you'll often find that we are returned high in their search results anyway!  But if you select the "France For Families" button then you'll be searching on our website for information covering more than 500 pages of targeted advice on holidays in France.  Between Google and France For Families you should be able to find anything you need.  If not, please let us know.

News Archive:  The following notes have been summarised from the days when we used to have a "news section" that we could regularly update. Due to the level of site traffic and associated communications we are no longer able to keep this

updated to our satisfaction. Therefore we focus our news page now on news about the website (unless there is something "hot" in which case we will mention it is "Stop Press". We just list here items that we still consider news worthy.

New European health cards are now being issued - if you're planning a holiday in France (or elsewhere in Europe), it is critical that you are aware of changes in 2005 to this often mis-understood bi-lateral health agreement. Our March 2005 newsletter contains a lot of helpful information.

Entertaining your kids on holiday - here is a fantastic new book called "Bonjour France" aimed for 7-12 year olds. We've been sent an advanced copy and can heartily recommend it. It's full of puzzles, games, quizzes.....all intertwined with a French flavour and a bit of vocab! The RRP is £9.99, however if you order online you can get it for £7.99 plus P+P. Better still, if you use the code "f4f" when you are prompted for a Redemption Code, you can get a further £1 off - only available for France For Families

viewers! We're not sure if this discount still works.

Looking for a holiday with a difference? If your family like the great outdoors then why not take an activity holiday with a company like www.country-kids.fr? They offer a variety of activity holidays in the foothills of the Pyrénées and are very friendly!

BBC Travel Service - we're not sure how new this is but we came across it recently - the BBC have an excellent online travel news service which covers not only UK roads but also train, sea and air, with updated information on travel problems that may affect your journey to France.

Vive La France exhibition - every January at Olympia.

If there's anything else you think news worthy that could be added here, please let us have your feedback.
