Nord Pas de Calais Attractions  This area of France gets rushed past by hordes heading south, but has some gems that can be enjoyed both  for a holiday close to home, as well as day trips to experience French culture rather than having a booze cruise!  Plan a day trip well and there will be time not only to stock up on wine and spirits, but also to visit a local attraction such as Nausicaa or La Coupole and then top the day off with a meal in a French restaurant!

Rollercoaster at Dennly's ParcPartially accessibleDennlys Parc - family theme park

Location: 30km from Saint-Omer.  From the A26 take exit n°4 signposted Thérouanne, then follow the direction of Fruges/Hesdin to Dennebroeucq.
General Info: Tel: 03 21 95 11 39.  €11 for an adult, €9 for a child between 3-11 years.  Open daily in high season from 10AM – 7PM.  At other times check their website.
Description:  A pleasant family theme park featuring waterslides, mini railway, kiddies monorail, rollercoasters etc., all set in the grounds of an old watermill.
Our recommendations:  There is a small pool and water slide, so you might want to take swimming cossies.  Also some of the attractions have a risk of getting wet, so a change of clothes and shoes is a good idea, although the kids do dry off quickly in the summer sun!
For the children: Mainly of interest for younger children, but of limited appeal to teenagers.
