Kids Favourites in Paris:

Perhaps not an obvious choice for a family holiday, however there are some splendid family attractions in Paris such as Disneyland Resort Paris, Park Asterix and the Provins World Heritage town.  When coupled with some of the more traditional destinations such as the boating on the River Seine or a visit to the Château de Versailles, there is the prospect of a truly enchanting holiday for everyone.

We have taken the family to Paris on day trips several times over the past couple of years and have found planning is the name of the game. Don’t expect too much from a day – the key is to pace yourselves and then everyone will have a good time. It helps to have a planned lunch stop, so book in advance if possible and sightsee around this. Several of us have also travelled there ourselves as children and three of our children have done French exchanges there.  Also we were lucky enough to have a weekend away there without the children not so long ago!  The following advice is therefore based on a combination of opinions....if you'd like to propose anything else, then please let us have your feedback.  Thanks.

Provins1.  Disneyland Resort Paris.  Modelled on the successful US theme park.  Click the link on the Disneyland advert below for a very special booking offer.

2. Eiffel Tower (pictured below right).  Great fun to climb for an excellent view of the city.  We have yet to visit without them wanting to climb up – just a shame they have to leave their scaredy(!!!) parents behind on Level 1 while they carry on up…..!Eiffel Tower

3.Parc Asterix.  A super theme park with a distinctly French flavour.

4. Provins World Heritage Town.  This is a medieval town (see above left) with fascinating displays and hands on activities.  Birds of prey and other exhibitions.

5. Cité des Sciences.  Lots of hands on scientific exhibits.
