Boat Trip on the Seine
Location:
Boats leave from the Port de la Bourdonnais near to the Eiffel Tower
or from the wharf alongside Notre Dame cathedral.
General Info: Round trips leave half hourly
in the summer and are around €11 for
adults and €5 for chidren (up to 11 years).
Description:
A 1 hour boat trip along the Seine on one of the so
called “Bateaux-Mouches” takes you through the heartland of Paris. It is
an un-forgettable experience as you can see so many of the major tourist
sites from a new perspective with the added benefit of an English
commentary via individual handsets.
Our recommendations: The
Batobus service, as it's name suggests, is like a bus allowing you
to get on or off anywhere along the river. Services run every 20
mins, 10AM-7PM (Apr - Nov) and until 9PM between June and September.
You can purchase one or two day passes for this service.
For the children: The 1 hour trip is a bit dull for toddlers, but
everyone else will enjoy it! There is a
special commentary available for children aged 8-14 (in French only).
