Our
Favourite Resorts - Les Deux Alpes...
a well spread resort covering more than 2km
along the valley! There are original villages at both ends but most
of the resort is purpose built. The scenery is stunning and
excellent skiing is possible for all abilities - we loved it so much we
went there for 4 years in a row.

Our likes/dislikes:
With a bottom height of 1650m snow is pretty much guaranteed in high
season and you can even ski in mid-summer on the glacier. The resort
is ideal for families with young skiers - there is a huge choice of easy
runs and after a week most people will be able to cope with a trip to the
glacier! On the downside, beginners cannot ski back to the village
as the steepest slopes are at the bottom & the ski bus can be erratic and
is often overcrowded.

Where to stay...Stay close to the Jandri Express or in the Alpe de Venose
area, near to the original village. Avoid the
"entrance to the resort" as this is a long way from
anything.
The
Edelweiss or
Berangère hotels are very good. The Orion apartments are only
100m from the
Diable
gondola although they are rather basic.
We recommend to avoid the hillside apartments.
